Delhi Weekend Curfew: Metro catching up tomorrow? Know timings and other details

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) informed that in the next two days, due to the weekend curfew, Metro trains on Yellow Line and Blue Line will be available at a frequency of 15 minutes. Meanwhile, on other lines, trains will be available at a frequency of 20 minutes during the weekend curfew. The DMRC also said that although 100% seating is allowed inside the train, standing is not recommended.

The move is in compliance with the guidelines issued by the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) last week amid the COVID surge.

100% seating is allowed in metro trains. However, standing passengers are not allowed in the trains. “Therefore, entry into trains and stations will remain highly restrictive as only a limited number of passengers (only 50) are allowed per coach,” the statement said.

DMRC also advised the commuters that if absolutely necessary, they should take extra time while commuting by Metro as the entry would still continue to be regulated to ensure compliance with the guidelines, resulting in the closure of stations. There may be queues/waiting outside.

“For the rest of the weekdays i.e. Monday to Friday, Metro services will be available as usual as per the extant guidelines,” DMRC said in the statement.
