Delhi Weekend Curfew: Non-essential activities banned for next 55 hours

The weekend curfew has begun in Delhi, barring all non-essential activities for the next 55 hours. The weekend curfew began at 10 pm on Friday and will continue till 5 am on Monday. Tomorrow, National Capital Its daily Covid-19 cases (24,383) recorded a decline, but the positivity rate rose to 31%. In the same period, 34 people also died in the city. According to the daily health bulletin, the active cases of Kovid-19 have come down to 92,273.

Here is the latest update Delhi’s weekend curfew,

  • All non-essential goods shops in markets and malls will remain closed till Sunday, January 16. Only shops selling essential items like groceries, medical equipment, medicines will be allowed to open.
  • Restaurants will remain closed but home delivery will be allowed.
  • The movement of people will be restricted during the weekend curfew and only those people belonging to the exempted categories and covered will be allowed to move during this period. They will be allowed on production of valid ID proof.
  • Persons facing emergency will be allowed to step out of their homes. Exiters will have to obtain an e-pass issued by the Delhi government or will be required to present a valid identity card.
  • People coming to or leaving from airports, railway stations and inter-state bus terminus will be allowed to travel on production of valid tickets.
  • Metro and buses will run at 100% seating capacity, no passenger will be allowed to stand. Yellow Line and Blue Line Metro trains will run at a frequency of 15 minutes. The frequency of Delhi Metro on other routes will be 20 minutes.
  • Maximum 20 people will be allowed on presentation of soft or hard copy of invitation letter in marriage related meeting.
  • Students will also be allowed to visit the examination centers on production of a valid admit card.
