Delhi will not freeze due to the outbreak of cold wave, but the mercury will fall…

The IMD has warned people of frostbite and asked them to limit their outdoor activities.

New Delhi:

Cold wave is expected in Delhi and National Capital Region (NCR) next week, with the temperature expected to go down to 3 degree Celsius. The minimum temperature in Delhi yesterday was 10.2 degree Celsius.

The India Meteorological Department today predicted that between January 16 and 18, cold wave will prevail in many areas of Delhi. The minimum temperature on Tuesday and Wednesday in Ayanagar and Ridge could be around 3 degree Celsius.

After bone-chilling nights over the past several weeks, the IMD’s prediction means things could get worse for Delhi residents. The Meteorological Department has warned people of frostbite and asked them to limit their outdoor activities.

“Eat fruits and vegetables rich in vitamin C and drink plenty of warm fluids to maintain adequate immunity. Avoid or limit outdoor activities,” the IMD said in its advisory.

Another weather agency Skymet has said that due to icy cold winds coming from the north, the temperature has already dropped in Rajasthan and Gujarat. But the agency refuted the claims of an expert who predicted that the temperature in Delhi could drop to -4 degree Celsius next week.

Skymet said in a tweet, “The minimum temperature in Delhi may be 3-4 degrees between January 16 and 18, but it will not go below 0 degrees in any way. The minimum temperature in different areas will be around 2 degrees.” can be seen.”

The homeless and animals are expected to suffer the most from the extremely low temperatures, and authorities have already begun setting up more shelters.
