New Zealand’s legendary all-rounder Sir Richard Hadlee on Sunday congratulated the spinner. ejaz patel, to become just the third bowler in the history of the game to take all ten wickets in a Test innings. Ejaz had achieved the feat on Day 2 Mumbai Test going on between India and New Zealand, “Congratulations Ajaz for a superb bowling performance. Glad to see this; a well deserved reward, and a great moment for him, New Zealand cricket and world cricket. To be in the great company of Jim Laker and Anil Kumble. (NZC) said in an official statement, “Very special indeed. All the best to him and the team in the second innings.”
While Mohammad Siraj took three wickets Ravichandran Ashwin New Zealand were bundled out for 62 after Ajaz Patel took all ten wickets to bowl India out for 325 in the first innings as four wickets were recorded.
Talking about the match, the bowlers of India and New Zealand took a total of 16 wickets at the Wankhede Stadium on the second day, after which the hosts reached the top in the ongoing second Test in Mumbai.
After Day 2’s play ended, India were 69/0 in the second innings, with Mayank Agarwal and Cheteshwar Pujara remaining unbeaten on the field with innings of 38* and 29* respectively. The hosts are now 332 ahead of the Kiwis.
