Despite financial constraints, farmer’s daughter scores 98.8% in CBSE 12th, aims to become an IAS officer

A farmer’s daughter, Kanika Kaushik, who hails from Nathuri, a very small town in Saharanpur, UP, has emerged as the school topper in the Bulandshahr campus with 98.8 per cent marks. CBSE Class 12th result.

Kanika, a humanities student, believes that education is the only way for her family to come out of the financial burden and make them financially independent. “My father is a marginal farmer and the family has always been financially burdened. This awareness inspired me to study more. I always knew that if I wanted security for my family and myself, I had to study and score good marks for them.

The 17-year-old was a student of Vidya Gyan, an academy for economically disadvantaged, meritorious students from rural Uttar Pradesh. He has scored 100 out of 100 in History and Psychology. Talking about her aspirations in life she says, “I want to prepare for civil services. As I believe that by choosing that path I can serve my country and people better. I want to help others in need, and get paid for all the help I have received. ,

Kanika, who has also secured a Karma fellowship that will support her for further studies, is currently preparing for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET).

Kanika, who loves to read and play volleyball, said, “I made sure to revise what I learned in school the same day.” Giving the preparation tips for the upcoming batch, she said, “Most of the students study really hard just before the exam, I didn’t do that and would not suggest others to do the same as it is unhealthy too. If you revise your classes regularly and stay consistent, there is less last minute stress and easier preparation.”

After a long wait, CBSE has declared the two-term based results for the first time. Both class 10 and class 12 results have been declared on the same day, July 22. CBSE 10th, 12th Board Exam 2023 will be conducted from 15 February. Around 92.71 per cent students have passed the examination.
