DG NCC Lt Gen Gurbirpal Singh stresses on the need to involve more youth in NCC activities – Times of India

Jammu: Emphasis on the growing role of NCC Cadet In the society and also in uniting the nation, Lt Gen Gurbirpal Singh, Director General National Cadet Corps on Wednesday stressed the need to involve more youth in it. NCC activities, with special focus on border and rural areas.
He said this while visiting NCC Directorate JammuKashmir and Ladakh (JK&L) as part of its two-day visit to the JK&L Directorate in Jammu.
PRO Defense Jammu Lt Col Devendra Anand Said, “During his visit, DG-NCC Lt Gen Shri Singh will also oversee the training activities NCC Training AcademyNagrota on Thursday.
Emphasizing on the increasing role of NCC cadets in the society and uniting the nation, DG-NCC emphasized the need to involve more youth in NCC activities with special focus on border and rural areas.
Col Anand said, “The Director General addressed the officers present and appreciated the work being done by all in the Directorate and underlined that the youth have the power and potential to bring about a positive change in an inclusive and sustainable society. Hence, all rank posts Efforts should be made to ensure highest standards of training to the cadets in the NCC DTE JK&L conducted.”
The DG also interacted with the NCC alumni and called upon the alumni to come forward and participate in furthering the cause of NCC.
“Earlier the DG-NCC was briefed by the Additional Director General, NCC Directorate JK&L, Col Anand about the organisation, functioning and training being carried out in the Union Territories of J&K and Ladakh.
They said that NCC Group Commanders Jammu and Srinagar also briefed the DG NCC about the NCC activities in all the districts of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
