Patiala: Former cabinet minister and Congress Candidates from Nabha Assembly Constituency Sadhu Singh Dharamsotti He reportedly held a roadshow on Monday after which the returning officer issued him a show cause notice.
Nabha SDM cum Returning Officer Kanu Gargo has been given a show cause notice to Dharmasoti As per the guidelines of the Election Commission, candidates cannot hold road shows for alleged violation of model code of conduct. The returning officer said that action can be taken only after the candidate’s reply is received.
Dharamsot had also uploaded pictures of the event.
Dharamsot, however, denied the allegations and said that no roadshow was held but his supporters themselves had come when he was on his way to file nominations on Monday.
“I had gone to the local Gurdwara Sahib and then to pay obeisance at the historic temple, after which I proceeded to file my nomination in my vehicle, but a gathering of people approached my vehicle to show their love and support for me. Many of them also carried Congress flags. I went with only four Congress workers but later many people joined me. It was not a road show,” Dharamsot said.
