Direct flights from Chandigarh to London from October

Chandigarh International Airport is likely to start direct flights to London by October, which will come as a big relief for people from Punjab who want to travel to the United Kingdom.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Chandigarh International Airport in 2015 in six years and the airport currently has two international flights to Sharjah and Dubai.

“The officials held a meeting with the British High Commission to start the flight to London. The proposals have been sent and it is expected to start from October, as the process will take around eight months to complete. Rakesh Dembla, chief executive officer of Chandigarh International Airport Limited (CHAIL), said the direct flight would be to London’s Heathrow airport or Birmingham airport, which is about 170 km from the UK capital. Hindustan Times.

Dembla said the flight to Sharjah was currently operational, while to Dubai it will resume from March 28, when the summer flight schedule begins. The detailed summer schedule is expected to be released in the first week of March.

“Besides resuming Dubai flight twice, there are plans to increase domestic flights from 56 to 76 (both arrival and departure). With this, most of the country will be covered by Chandigarh.”
