Disaster in waiting for construction of NDMC-run hospital: AAP leader Atishi

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday alleged that the BJP is “ruthlessly” playing with people’s lives as patients are being treated at the North Delhi Municipal Corporation-run Rajan Babu Hospital despite the building being declared “dangerous”. Had been.

AAP leader Atishi said, “The hospital building is a disaster waiting to happen.”

Responding to the allegation, Delhi BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor said AAP was trying to malign the hospital’s image for “Dalit politics”.

“The fact is that the front of the building, which is actually a covered verandah, is finished and [was] Recently declared hazardous, while three-fourth of the building, which houses hospital wards, is safe and habitable,” he said.

In a video shot outside the building, Ms Atishi showed a sign that read, “Warning, there is a dangerous building ahead. This road is closed.”

He claimed that the board was put up by the municipal corporation and yet patients were being treated in the building.

He said, ‘On seeing this hospital today, the greed for money of BJP can be gauged. They have left the people of Delhi to die.”

Responding to the allegations, North Municipal Corporation Standing Committee Chairman Jogi Ram Jain said that two blocks of the hospital are being repaired and patients are not being treated there. He said the signboards declaring the building “vulnerable” were misleading.

“The buildings which were mentioned are block number 9, which is completely closed while block number 14 is partially closed. Earlier, our engineering department had given permission for repair work in these blocks. We are also awaiting the survey report of the hospital by a team from IIT Roorkee. AAP only wants to create ruckus,” Mr Jain said.
