When we were looking for some quick and easy snacks to make on Diwali, we found this instant chakli recipe on YouTube food channel ‘Cook with Parul’. In this recipe, she uses everyday household ingredients like rice flour, moong dal and some spices to add that extra kick of flavour. And the best thing about this recipe is that even if you do not have a chakli making machine, you can easily make it.

To make this snack, first of all take moong dal and dry roast it so that there is no moisture in it. Then put it in the grinder and make its powder. Now take a bowl and add rice flour, moong dal powder, gram flour, carom seeds, cumin, red chili powder, salt as per taste, asafoetida and sesame seeds. Lastly add hot ghee also. Mix all these well. Also add some turmeric powder.
Then take some warm water and knead half a soft dough. Now if you have a chakli maker, then make chakli by adding flour to the chakli. If you do not have a chakli making machine, then take a small portion of the dough and shape it with your hands.
Finally deep fry these chaklis in hot oil till they become crisp and golden.
