The festival of lights, Diwali, is here after a two-year halt due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As usual, Indian Railways has left no stone unturned in introducing Utsav special trains to accommodate the passengers, and has provided them all the convenience and convenience of traveling. Indian Railways started 179 Utsav special trains to manage the rush of passengers, however, 26 special trains are running late today due to various reasons and their timings have been changed. Reasons for rescheduling of these trains include inclement weather conditions, law and order situation, maintenance and operational work, which have to be laid on the tracks today. Also, apart from these, IRCTC canceled more than 80 trains today.
Passengers can check the status of their trains through IRCTC official website or NTES app. Indian Railways cancel, divert and reschedule trains due to various reasons. If your train is canceled then passengers who booked tickets through IRCTC website will be automatically canceled and refund will be initiated in user’s accounts. Meanwhile, those who have booked through the counter will have to visit the reservation counter to claim the refund.

Besides this, the Central Railway has increased the platform ticket rates from Rs 10 to Rs 50 on a temporary basis at major stations in Mumbai from Saturday to prevent overcrowding amid the festive season.
