Diwali-Chhath Puja Special Trains: Ahead of Diwali and Chhath Puja celebrations, Indian Railways is running 668 trips of 110 special trains for Diwali and Chhath Puja 2021. This special arrangement is made for the travelers traveling to their native places to celebrate the festival with their families.

Besides increase in coaches in special trains and regular trains, priority is given to crowd management at major stations to ensure availability of berths during this festival.

“For the convenience of railway passengers and to clear the extra rush of passengers during this festive season, Indian Railways is running 668 special trains of 110 special trains from Durga Puja to Chhath Puja this year,” the ministry said.

Special trains have been planned on railway zones to connect major destinations across the country.

Crowd control measures are being ensured by queuing up at Terminus stations under the supervision of RPF staff for orderly entry of passengers in unreserved coaches.

Additional RPF personnel have been deployed at major stations to ensure the safety of passengers. Officers on emergency duty have been deployed at major stations to ensure smooth running of trains. The staff has been deployed in different sections on priority basis to avoid any disruption of train service.

Measures have been taken for frequent and timely announcement of arrival/departure of trains having platform number.

“May I Help You” booths are maintained at important stations where RPF personnel and TTEs are deputed for proper assistance and guidance of passengers. Medical teams are available on call at major stations. Ambulance with paramedical team is also available.

Any malpractices by the staff of the Security and Vigilance Department such as folding of seats, overcharging and touting activities etc. are closely monitored and monitored. Instructions have been given by the Zonal Headquarters to maintain cleanliness at the waiting rooms, rest rooms, especially the passenger comfort areas and stations in general.
