Meanwhile, the National Commission for Women (NCW) has asked Twitter to block actor Sidharth’s account of actor Sidharth over his “sexist” tweet against star badminton player Saina Nehwal. NCW chief Rekha Sharma has written to the Resident Grievance Officer of Twitter India, seeking to block actor Siddharth’s account.

NCW chairperson Rekha Sharma said, “We have not received any response from him. We are waiting for his reply and we are following up with him and want actor Siddharth’s account to be blocked.”

He said, “Even today we have written to the DGP of Tamil Nadu about another incident where he is using abusive language for a mediaperson woman. So, we have taken up that matter and we wrote to the DGP again.” We are probing both the cases.” “Sharma said”

He said, “We have not had any talk with Sania Nehwal. We have taken suo motu cognizance in this matter. Many similar cases are being seen on social media and we took it to set an example for others. “

“He is repeatedly using hate speech, obscene remarks not only for one woman but also for other women. NCW is in touch with DGP of Tamil Nadu. I am personally approaching him to take action Because we have to set an example of this. This is the case because these days we have seen that social media is full of such tweets and messages, I think we have to take up this matter with the police.”

“The Commission has taken suo motu cognizance of the matter. Chairperson Ms. Rekha Sharma has written to the Director General of Police, Tamil Nadu seeking intervention and appropriate action against the offender as per the provisions of law to prevent such statements from being made in future. The action taken in this matter should be apprised to the Commission at the earliest.

The actor had on January 6 retweeted a post by Nehwal in a Twitter post in which he expressed concern over the security breach by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Punjab on January 5.

Expressing concern over the Prime Minister’s convoy being stopped for 15-20 minutes at a flyover in Punjab’s Bathinda, as the road was blocked by protesting farmers, the ace badminton player tweeted: “Any country Can’t claim himself to be safe if he has his own security. PM compromises. I, in the strongest words, condemn the cowardly attack on PM Modi by anarchists.”

Sidharth retweeted her post, writing, “The world’s micro rooster champion…Thank god we have India defenders. With folded hands. Shame on you Rihanna.” NCW said in a statement today that the actor’s remarks were “malicious and derogatory to the woman, which is an insult and insult to the dignity of women on social media platforms.”

The actor also replied that he didn’t mean to insult anyone and that his “subtle cock” tweet didn’t contain any objections. “Rooster and bull. That’s the context. Reading otherwise is inappropriate and leading. Nothing offensive was intended, said or indicated. Period,” he tweeted.
