DPSRU students visit Mankind Research Centre, the dedicated R&D center of Mankind Pharma – Times of India

pharmaceutical department, School of Pharmaceutical SciencesDelhi Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research University recently organized an industrial visit for the students of M.Pharm Industrial Pharmacy Humankind Research Center 1 and 3 at IMT Manesar, Gurugram, Haryana.
The objective of organizing this tour was to acquaint the students with the industrial structure and work culture of various departments. The two-day visit was coordinated by Dr. Sushma Talegaonkar, Associate Professor. pharmaceutical department and Dr. Sumit Sharma, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmacy. The visit included a formal introduction and brief view of the company with technical staff members. Shri Ekansh, Project Manager, Mankind gave a brief introduction about the Vision, Mission, ongoing projects and upcoming projects in new departments like Biotechnology and Nasal Drug Delivery System.
He actively answered all the questions being asked by the students regarding various opportunities in the human race. The students have visited all the departments of MRC 1, ranging from Formulation Development, Analytical Department, Packaging Department, Microbiology Lab to Regulatory Affairs and IPR Department. The documentation department was located on each floor adjacent to the respective wet lab. In the second half the students visited various departments of MRC 3, starting from analysis to formulation development. The Oral Solids Dose Forms department was located on the first floor for sophisticated tablet preparation and capsule filling.
The students looked at a variety of equipment ranging from vibrating-sifters to perforated tablet auto-coaters and capsule filling machines. Two formulation scientists in the Department of Ophthalmology explained the operation of sterile preparations in Controlled Access Barrier Systems (C-ABS) and isolators (open and closed), as well as the various instruments used for their preparation, evaluation and sterilization. Told about Lastly, Mr. Satish Chandra Upadhyay, Senior Vice President, Mankind Pharma, told the students about the various aspects of working in the industry and how they can build a successful career ahead. Additionally, the students were able to get a closer look at the industry and the work culture of the various departments.
