The death of Sidhu Moose Wala has created a stir in the music industry. The singer, never one to shy away from controversy, was shot dead in broad daylight in the street. Tributes and condolences have been pouring in for the family of the late Punjabi singer since Sunday evening. Rapper and singer Drake also joined him. The Candian star paid tribute to Sidhu Moose Wala by sharing a picture of the Punjabi singer with his mother. Below the photo Drake wrote, “RIP Moose”.

Sidhu Moose Wala was shot dead by miscreants near his native village in broad daylight in Punjab’s Mansa on Sunday. He was at the wheel in a Mahindra Thar SUV when the assailants, believed to be 10-12, fired more than 20 rounds at point-blank range at Singer and his two friends, who were seriously injured. Musewala was hit by seven or eight bullets.

It is learned that AK-47 rifle was used in the crime as its shells were recovered from the crime scene.

Moose Wala was taken to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead. The Civil Surgeon of Mansa Hospital said that Musewala was brought dead, while two others were referred to another hospital for treatment.

Loved by fans, colleagues and his contemporaries, the singer was popular not only in his native state but in the Punjabi diaspora in Canada, the UK and the US. This electrical engineering graduate released his debut album ‘PBX1’ in 2018. Moose Wala rose to instant fame with the song ‘So High’. Some of his stable’s other hit numbers sent YouTube into a tizzy, including “Game”, “Warning Shots”, “Legend”, “Tochan” and “Famous”. ‘Snitches Get Stitches’ and ‘Mousetape’ were released in 2020 and 2021.

Musewala was also an actor and was seen in films like ‘Jattana Da Munda Gone Laga’, ‘Teri Meri Jodi’ and ‘Yes I Am Student’.
