Drone destination to set up 150 drone pilot training schools by 2025: CEO

Delhi-based company ‘Drone Destination’ plans to set up at least 150 drone pilot training schools across the country by 2025, its CEO Chirag Sharma has said. Sharma said in an interview to PTI, “We want to partner with universities, agricultural institutions and police academies to meet the specific needs of the ecosystem and provide employment and employment to over 1 lakh persons required by our industry by 2025.” We want to provide entrepreneurship opportunities.”

Drone Destination is India’s first remote pilot training organization, approved by the Aviation Regulator Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) under the new Drone Rules, 2021. It currently runs six Remote Pilot Training Schools in the country. “The company has so far opened six centres: four in collaboration with Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi (IGRUA), the largest flying training organization under the Ministry of Civil Aviation in Gurugram, Bengaluru, Gwalior and Dharamsala; One in association with Sanskardham Global Mission Institute; And the most recent launch at Chandigarh University, the first Drone Training School in Punjab,” said Sharma.

He said the company is adding two more schools to its network in collaboration with Hindustan College of Engineering in Coimbatore and Vaigai College of Engineering in Madurai. Inaugurating the two-day Drone Festival India Prime Minister on Friday Narendra Modi He said that it is his dream that everyone in India should have a smartphone, every farm should have a drone and every home should be prosperous.

“Promoting drone technology is another means to further our commitment to good governance and making life easier. As drones, we have a smart tool that is going to be a part of people’s lives,” Modi said. Sharma told PTI, “The company has trained 500 pilots in the last few months. We intend to train around 1,500-2,000 pilots from the Gurugram center and 500 pilots from other locations in the coming year.” He said Drone Destination plans to open a large network of over 150 drone hubs by 2025, including drone training, drone rental and providing drone services from each hub.

Drone Destination has also conducted several train-the-trainer courses in collaboration with IGRUA and has developed over 150 DGCA-approved drone trainers in the country, he noted.
