Mr. Khan has filed an appeal before the High Court against the cancellation of his bail by a special Narcotics Drugs Psychotropic Substances Act court on October 20.

Advocate Satish Maneshinde, appearing for Mr Khan, mentioned the matter before a single bench of Justice Nitin Sambre.

Mr. Aryan Khan was arrested on 3rd October and is currently Arrested in Arthur Road Jail With his friend and co-accused Arbaaz Merchant.

Special Judge VV Patil said, “Prima facie it appears from the WhatsApp chat that Aryan Khan is regularly engaged in illegal drug activities of narcotics. Therefore, it cannot be said that he is unlikely to commit a similar offense while on bail.”

The order said, “While perusing the papers, nothing was found in the possession of accused No. 1. 1 (Aryan Khan) possessed 6 grams of charas accused No. 2 (Arbaaz Merchant) who was hiding in his shoes. Of course, they have been friends for a long time. They traveled together and were caught together at an international cruise terminal. Furthermore, in their voluntary statements, both of them disclosed that they were using the said substances for their consumption and Thus, all these things show that accused No. 1 was aware of the prohibited substance concealed by accused No. 2 in his shoes.”

Shahrukh Khan meets son in Mumbai Jail

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan on Thursday met his son Aryan Khan at Mumbai’s Arthur Road Jail, where he has been arrested in connection with the seizure of drugs on a cruise ship off the city’s coast, an official said.

The actor reached the jail at Mumbai Central around 9 am and left at 9.30 am, the official said.

The jail authorities checked the actor’s Aadhaar card and other documents before entering the premises, officials said.

After verification of documents, a token was given to her by the jail authorities, after which she was allowed to meet her son, who is lodged in the common cell of the jail as an undertrial.

A jail official said that Shahrukh Khan met his son for about 15 to 20 minutes. He told that four guards were also present with him during the conversation.

The official said that the actor was allowed to meet his son like any other member of the prisoner’s family as per the jail manual and was not given any special treatment.

A large number of media persons and local residents had gathered outside the jail when the actor arrived. Heavy police security was deployed outside the jail premises as well.

Till now, the family members of the prisoners were not being allowed to visit the jail in view of the COVID-19 pandemic. The prison authorities started allowing the family members of the prisoners to meet them from Thursday morning, the official said.
