New Delhi: Disappointed with the results of the Common University Entrance TestCUET) and on Friday, due to lack of clarity on the admission process in colleges, students on social media expressed their views and confusion over the choice of college. Surbhi Tiwari said that the students were not aware of the admission process and some of them were forced to settle with the local college and not the one of their choice.
“CUET was the biggest disaster. Students who otherwise would have been sure about their future and college as per their plans are now unaware. Even the most talented people now have no option but to do UG from the local college No, which rarely makes any way,” she wrote on Twitter.
another student Shrabani SinghaThose who scored an average of 88 per cent after normalizing wondered whether they could get admission in any of these Delhi University Colleges under the existing system
AryaAnother student claimed to have scored full marks in the RAW score in Political Science and wrote that his percentile dropped to 88.9 after normalization.
Arya wrote, “I had to take the exam twice because one of my exams was cancelled. I can’t believe I won’t be able to get into Delhi University.”
He said that CUET and National Testing AgencyNTA) “shattered all his dreams.”
Arya wrote, “This normalization of marks ruined everything for me. With full marks in two subjects and some mistakes in others, my percentage didn’t even reach 90 marks. I worked very hard. My life was ruined Is.”
After the declaration of CUET results, the UGC President M Jagadeso Kumar said on Friday that universities will prepare rank lists on the basis of “normalized” marks and not on the basis of percentage or raw marks, for parity between marks for undergraduate admissions.
Kumar told PTI-Bhasha that the scores were normalized to provide equal opportunities for students who took the exam in the same subject on different days or in different shifts.
Another student, with the same concerns as Arya Ramandeep Singh asked why their score had dropped “in the name of normalization”.
“I scored 200 out of 200 in business studies but after normalizing it came down to 186. Please tell me what could I have done to get 100 percentile? I have studied whole day, whole night and generalization Nearly 50 points have been lost in the process.” Singh wrote on Twitter.
Sumati KapoorThose who also appeared for CUET and are unhappy with the results wrote, “When I checked my answer key first, it was showing that I had almost no wrong answers. How did I score so low?”
Another disgruntled student Bhanu malwalia Questioned the normalization process and called the results “unfair”.
“What kind of result is this? Do we call it normalisation? Hundreds of marks have been deducted in the name of normalisation. Was it our fault to be in phase one? Thousands of students’ dreams were shattered. This is not fair. We want justice. ,” Malwalia wrote.
Faria Jahan claimed that her score came down from 785 to 730 after she returned to normal.
She said, “The results have made us believe that hard work doesn’t matter anymore. Normalization was for only a few! The answer key was the worst. I feel completely shattered.”
