DU is not implementing reservation, roster as suggested by parliamentary panel: Teachers’ Union

The teachers’ unions of Delhi University (DU) have claimed that the report of the Parliamentary Committee on Reservation and Roster has not been implemented in the university till date.

Further, stating that the parliamentary panel had found a backlog of 4,500 posts in DU but the university did not pay any heed to it, the Delhi University Teachers’ Forum has demanded the university administration to fill the backlog posts within the time limit.

The panel also found that the roster was not implemented as per the DoPT (Department of Personnel and Training) rules in the three colleges, with the teachers’ union stating that no action has been taken by the university administration in this regard. six years.

Expressing concern over the issue, the Forum of Academics for Social Justice has sought implementation of the circular sent by the Parliamentary Committee on 22 December 2016 to DU. In this regard, the Forum has filed a petition before the Vice Chancellor of DU, Professor Yogesh. Kumar Singh.

Forum President Dr. Hansraj Suman has said that the parliamentary panel has written in the circular sent to the former Vice Chancellor of DU that some colleges are not following the reservation policy properly and ignoring the rules of the roster system. He also suggested that the UGC, being the nodal agency for implementing the reservation, should stop the grant of such colleges, he said.

He said that the committee had found discrepancies in the roster register maintained by DU’s Aryabhatta College, Deen Dayal Upadhyay College and College of Vocational Studies.

Dr. Suman said that there are still discrepancies in the roster of some colleges, the posts which were earlier for the reserved category, have now been normalized in the roster, which is causing anger among the ad-hoc teachers.
