The Defense Ministry on Sunday said the Sainik School Society (SSS) is in the process of developing an automated system to provide online counseling to students seeking admission in 100 new Sainik Schools. It said that an automated system for e-counselling would ensure complete transparency in the admission process.

In a statement, the ministry said, “Continuing with the government’s target of setting up 100 new Sainik Schools across the country, Sainik School Society (SSS) is in the process of developing an automated system for conducting e-counselling. “

It said that e-counselling would be less costly and user-friendly for all stakeholders – schools and students. “This will be applicable to the new schools being set up as part of the government’s vision to provide students across the country with an opportunity to follow the Sainik School curriculum as well as move forward in line with the National Education Policy,” the ministry said.

“This automated system for e-counselling will ensure complete transparency in the admission process,” it added. The ministry said that the students would be asked to register through the link provided on the web portal http://www.sainikschool. ncog.gov.in” www.sainikschool.ncog.gov.in and verify their details. “Students will have the option to select up to 10 schools as an option for allotment. Thereafter, allotment of schools to students will be done on the basis of their rank and choice of schools and result will be declared through e-counselling portal,” the ministry said.
