The average time taken so far for disposal of cases registered through e-Dakhil is 100 days for District Commissions and 90 days for State Commissions, which is much less than the time taken otherwise for disposal of cases.
This provision of online filing of complaints was made in consumer protection act of 2019, which stipulates that efforts should be made to decide every consumer complaint within three months where analysis or testing of the commodity is not required and within five months where analysis or testing of the commodity is required.
E-Dakhil was introduced as a hassle-free interface for the consumers to easily approach the concerned consumer commission, eliminating the need to travel and be physically present to lodge complaints .
