E-governance and apps are the way forward, says official

State commissioner of collegiate education Pola Bhaskar said on Tuesday that futuristic outcomes have been made possible through e-governance and applications that strengthen the delivery mechanism of curriculum and administration.

Mr Bhaskar was speaking after the launch of four apps- Teaching Learning App, Grievance Redressal App, Internship App and Student Information Management App. The department also released 17 textbooks on life skills and skill development courses, the contents of which were prepared by teachers in government degree colleges.

VVVS Subbarao, President, Skill Hub said that the compilation of material for the new courses has been completed.

The program was attended by Ranga Rajan, Manager, State Bank of India, Principals and Placement Officers of various colleges, Content Producers and Academic Cell officials.

The department also organized a mega job fair at SRR and CVR Government College. Around 750 students from 165 government degree colleges across the state participated. Representatives from 12 supply chain and distribution companies participated in job drives to select eligible candidates for their respective organizations.

The College Education Commissionerate also released a manual covering various educational initiatives being implemented by the department in line with the National Policy on Education (NEP), National Institutional Ranging Framework (NIRF) and National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

AP State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) director Satyanarayana said such initiatives were important for general job opportunities for students. He said that a new set of textbooks is ready and teachers and students should make best use of the new components added in the academic curriculum.
