To collect information on financial transactions relating to Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is understood to have issued notice to former finance minister TM Thomas Isaac to appear on Tuesday.

Sources indicated that the notice was served on the Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board (KIIFB) to collect information on certain financial transactions.

However, when contacted, Dr. Isaac said that he has not received any such notice from the agency. “Even if they give me a notice to appear before them on Tuesday, I will not appear before them because I have more important work to do,” Dr. Isaacs said. “They can arrest me if they want. I will not appear before them,” Dr. Isaac insisted.

The stand of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) is that the agency was acting as a political appendage of the BJP-led central government to target the opposition.

Dr. Isaac will be the second minister in the first Pinarayi Vijayan government to be questioned by the central agency. before this, Directorate had questioned KT JalilIn connection with the distribution of Ramzan meal kits by the Consulate General of the United Arab Emirates in Thiruvananthapuram, Minister of Higher Education, Minority Welfare, Waqf and Hajj. The consulate had paid for the food kit, which was procured from a state government agency. The minister was also questioned about the consignment of Quran which he received from the UAE Consulate, Thiruvananthapuram. The Quran was transported in government vehicles to various places in the state and distributed to some agencies. However, no offense was committed against Dr. Jaleel.
