ED summons Rahul Gandhi for the third time yesterday; Tuesday’s inquiry will end soon

Indian National Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was questioned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for over 10 hours on Tuesday. The central probe agency has summoned the Congress leader for further questioning on Wednesday.

According to the complaint filed in the Metropolitan Magistrate’s court, Associated Journals Limited (AJL) took an interest-free loan. 90.25 crore (US$12 million) from the Indian National Congress. It is alleged that the loan was not repaid. A close company, Young Indian, was incorporated in November 2010 with the capital of? 50 million (US$66,000) and it acquired almost all of AJL’s shareholding and all of its assets (allegedly worth 5,000 crore (US$660 million). Swamy alleged criminal misappropriation by both Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.
