Education: Working to increase investment in education to 6% of GDP: Government – Times of India

New Delhi: With the budget Education Crossing Rs 1 lakh crore for the first time in the 2022-23 financial year, the government on Wednesday said the Center and the states are working together to raise the public Investment The earliest in the region to 6% of GDP.

When asked about the target set in the NEP to achieve public investment on education equal to 6% of GDP, Junior Education Minister Subhash Sarkar said that the government is continuously working in this direction. He said, “This is the first time in the education sector that the budget has crossed Rs 1 lakh crore.
Pradhan in turn said that the entire focus of NEP and Samagra Shiksha is on improving the quality of education while also reducing the dropout ratio, and PM Poshan Abhiyan is also an ambitious program in that direction.
“Upgrading the quality of education, quality of teacher education, all these we are focusing a lot on in consultation with the states. We are committed to improving the quality of teaching and learning to meet the expectations of the 21st century.”
