‘Eknath-Devendra Sarkar’: Fadnavis on Uddhav camp’s ‘ED’ slogan during trust vote in Maharashtra Assembly

Opposition MLAs hooted and said “ED!” In the Maharashtra Assembly, when an MLA of Thackeray camp supported Eknath Shinde in the trust vote today. Santosh Bangar, who had earlier posted a video of him crying in support of Uddhav Thackeray on his Twitter account, today came out in favor of Shinde.

An NDTV report said that when Pratap Sarnaik supported Eknath Shinde during the trust vote, the opposition legislators also raised slogans of “ED, ED”. Sarnaik is facing a money-laundering probe by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

On Sunday, opposition legislators raised “ED, ED” slogans when Shiv Sena MLA Yamini Yashwant Jadhav of the Eknath Shinde camp voted for the speaker’s election.

“I once said that I will come back. But when I said so many people made fun of me. I have come back today and brought him (Eknath Shinde) with me. I will not take revenge on those who made fun of me.” Blown them up. I will forgive them, not everything is taken seriously in politics. They (rebel MLAs) came because of ED – Eknath and Devendra,” Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis.

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Monday won the floor test in the state assembly. In the 288-member House, 164 MLAs voted for the confidence motion, while 99 voted against it.

Speaker Rahul Narvekar announced that the trust vote has been held with a majority. Recently after the death of a Shiv Sena MLA, the present strength of the assembly has come down to 287, thus the majority mark is 144.

Shinde was sworn in as CM on June 30, a day after Uddhav Thackeray stepped down. Devendra Fadnavis of BJP took oath as the Deputy CM.
