Eknath Shinde will emerge in Tamil Nadu: BJP MK Stalin’s party rejects claim

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin’s party DMK has rejected the state BJP chief’s claim

Chennai:

State BJP president K Annamalai has claimed that Tamil Nadu will soon follow Maharashtra and there will be a change of power in the state.

Senior DMK leader and party’s organizing secretary RS Bharathi termed Annamalai’s remarks as “insignificant” and said “the party is not taking him seriously”.

Drawing similarities between the political conditions in the two states, Annamalai said that late Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray’s eldest son Bindumadhav’s venture into films resembles that of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi’s first son Mu Ka Muthu. Annamalai claimed, “Both wanted to act in films but the films did not do well.”

Similarly, Mr Thackeray’s second son Jaydev is away from the family and so is Karunanidhi’s second son MK Alagiri, he said.

Addressing a BJP protest rally in the city on Tuesday, Annamalai said that his third son Uddhav Thackeray got a chance to become the Chief Minister of Maharashtra and that’s how MK Stalin became the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.

Uddhav Thackeray’s son Aaditya has political ambitions and MK Stalin’s son Udayanidhi too.

The BJP president claimed, “Both are youth wing leaders of their respective parties. Tamil Nadu is all set for a cabinet reshuffle. Eknath Shinde will emerge here as well.” change of guard in maharashtra

Annamalai further said that two-and-a-half years ago the three parties had joined hands to form an alliance in Maharashtra, just like the DMK had forged an alliance with the Congress and the Left here. “In Maharashtra, Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress joined hands and BJP which had 105 MLAs was pushed back and Shiv Sena formed the government with 57 MLAs.

“Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh tortured BJP supporters as much as he could. Then Eknath Shinde came with 12 MLAs. He went to Surat. This is Rajdharma. When it has to happen, it will happen. It happened in Maharashtra and you will see it. Happens in Tamil Nadu too,” Annamalai told the Vishal Sabha.

The DMK, however, highlighted the remarks of the saffron party leader, while underlining that no rebellion was possible in the party’s ranks.

“He (Annamalai) has been doing all this nonsense of late. As far as I am concerned, I am not taking him seriously,” former MP Bharti told Press Trust of India on Wednesday.

When asked to comment on Annamalai’s statement on the emergence of Eknath Shinde in Tamil Nadu, another senior leader and a sitting MLA said, “There is no possibility of that happening,” he said, referring to the state chief minister and DMK president MK Stalin.
