Billionaire Elon Musk recently revealed that he earns approx. 80 lakh per month from his 24,700 followers on Twitter. The tech giant shared a screenshot showing the number of people who paid $4 ( 330) per month to subscribe to his exclusive content. Musk is making money by providing some exclusive content to his super followers.
Twitter users can also earn money like Musk if they are able to provide quality content to the subscribers.
Elon Musk told through screenshots how users can earn money from Twitter. Musk has written that content creators can earn money using the monetization option on the platform.
“Content creators may wish to enable subscriptions on this platform. Simply tap on Monetization in Settings,” he wrote.
Tesla CEO is charging $4 from each user per month and has around 24,700 customers. Therefore, Musk’s estimated income from Twitter subscribers is around $98,800 (approx. 80.9 lakh).
Currently, the monetization feature is now limited to users in the US, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Japan, EU, UK, and EEA, according to the website. However, people can choose to subscribe regardless of region.
A user needs to select the profile icon on the top left corner, tap on Business Tools at the bottom of the screen to go to the Monetization option, and then click on Subscriptions.
Notably, Elon Musk is the most followed person on Twitter with 136.6 million followers. Musk’s super followers have access to his discussions hosted on Spaces and will also be privy to Ask Me Anything sessions.
Since being acquired by Elon Musk last year, Twitter has been experimenting with various monetization strategies, including verification and charging for API access.
Recently, the social media platform told advertisers that companies that want to advertise on Twitter Inc must now pay for verification or reach a minimum monthly spend on ads.
