Elon Musk launches another ‘test’ on Twitter. Netizens have some hilarious answers

Since the acquisition of Twitter in October, new owner Elon Musk has been conducting a number of experiments on the technical side of the social media platform. In the latest one, the tech billionaire said he would test whether his private tweets are equally visible in public by creating his account for a day.

He said in a tweet, made my account private till tomorrow morning to know whether you see more of my private tweets than my public tweets.

The tweet received some hilarious comments within hours of being posted.

Wow, I’m in Elon’s personal circle,” pointed out one Twitter user upon seeing the tweet on his feed. On a similar note, another said, “If you are seeing this tweet, you are in the circle of trust.”

Have you really had to do that so many people already have screenshots up and posted? said a user. While answering this, another user said, he knows what he is doing.

Since the $44 billion acquisition, Musk has come under fire for several of his policies. He has focused on reducing costs by laying off half the staff and introducing new plans for the Twitter Blue subscription service, which offers sought-after “Verified” badges.

He said the move was necessary to justify the costly acquisition.

Twitter has seen advertisers flee amid concerns about Musk’s content moderation rules, which have hit its revenue. Musk also reported in November that Twitter had seen a “huge” drop in revenue and blamed activist groups for putting pressure on advertisers.

Musk previously said that the acquisition of Twitter would be part of a master plan to create “the everything app”, a service that would offer social networking, peer-to-peer payments and e-commerce purchases. Prior to Musk’s acquisition, Twitter was exploring allowing its users to receive tips, or digital payments, from their followers as early as 2021.
