Embassy of India in China asks Indian students to register with it to rejoin colleges

As Indian students, stranded at home due to the COVID travel restrictions, slowly return to rejoin their colleges in China after Beijing issued visas, the Indian embassy on Friday asked them to register with the mission. so as to ensure timely facilitation of their consular needs. Over 23,000 Indian students, mostly studying medicine, have reportedly returned home due to COVID visa restrictions.

China began issuing visas for students who obtain permits from their Chinese colleges and universities to return to pursue their studies. But he finds it difficult to travel to China as both the countries are yet to resume flight services.

With concerted efforts, Indian medical students have started returning to mainland China to rejoin their respective universities. Indian students in China are requested to fill up the registration form to ensure timely facilitation of their consular needs, said the notice posted on the embassy’s website. They can register with the Indian Embassy or the Indian Consulate in Shanghai or Guangzhou, it said.

It also provided the names of officers and their contact details. It states that all Indian students are encouraged to register so that the Embassy/Consulate may contact them at the earliest for any convenience. It states that students who are yet to return to China can fill the form only after reaching China.
