End-to-end ITR filing process on new e-filing portal is flawed

I have filed my ITR in the new e-filing portal and verified it online through Aadhar card. I can see both ‘Verified’ and ‘Verification Pending’ in my account. I am confused if there is anything else I have to do to complete the validation.

The new income tax portal is still facing issues and glitches and the end-to-end process of filing IT returns (ITR) including e-verification is not error free.

As a result, there are occasions where the ITR shows pending verification despite being e-verified (whether through Aadhaar or any other prescribed methods). In such cases, it is advisable to keep checking the portal for filing and e-verification status.

Instance where e-verification has been done but it shows pending view on new portal. The ITR-V indicating that the e-Verification has been successfully completed needs to be carefully preserved. The e-verification process can be repeated till such time, however, if he is already registered, the portal will not allow it to be done a second time.

It is to be noted that the deadline for completing the e-verification is 120 days from the date of filing of IT returns. It is expected that in the coming days, the glitches in the IT portal will be rectified.
