Leeds: England’s deciding one-day international against South Africa at Headingley on Sunday was called off due to rain, with South African opener Quinton de Kock falling short of a century.
A no result meant the three-match series was tied 1–1, when South Africa won the first ODI by 62 runs and England won the second by 118 runs.
South Africa won the toss on Sunday and decided to bat with de Kock scoring an unbeaten 69 before the first break.
When the teams returned for another seven overs, he went on to an unbeaten 92 before rain fell again, prompting the decision to abandon the competition.
South Africa scored 159-2 in 27.4 overs.
The two countries are now facing each other in three Twenty20 Internationals starting in Bristol from Wednesday.
