Pant, with Ravindra Jadeja, helped India save with a score of 98/5. The two shared a 222-run partnership, and also at a brisk pace, before Joe Root restricted the wicketkeeper-batsman for 146.
Pant completed his fifty in just 51 balls and then completed his century in just 89 balls.
He was dismissed after scoring 146 runs in just 111 balls.
