Ben Stokes’ patient knock of 52 not out takes England into second T20I World Cup win, this time against Pakistan at the MCG on Sunday. After restricting Pakistan to a low score of 137/8, England got off to a poor start, losing Alex Hales, Phil Salt and the dangerous Jos Buttler inside the Powerplay. Pakistan fought hard but in the end, there were not enough runs on the board as Shaheen Afridi was unable to complete his quota of slog overs.
With the win, England became the first men’s team to win both the ODI and T20 world titles simultaneously. As for Stokes, the England all-rounder registered his maiden fifty in the T20 format.
Watching Pakistan lose, Indian cricket came alive on Twitter as Rohit Sharma’s team came out to avenge the online humiliation from arch-rivals after their team registered a 10-wicket loss to England in the semi-final.

Two minutes of silence for the accounts, celebrities and tweets from that country that laughed, trolled and mocked Indians over that loss. Now taste your medicine and enjoy.

A combined bowling performance led by an excellent Sam Curran who took 3/12 during a spell in which he did not hit a single boundary to restrict Pakistan to 137/8 in 20 overs. Pakistan was never allowed to take control as England bowled well. Adal Rashid took 2/22 while Chris Jordan finished with 2/27.
Shan Masood was the top scorer for Pakistan with 38 off 28 as they failed to form a big partnership thanks to regular strikes from England.
