EV battery swapping stations at BPCL petrol pumps coming soon via bounce – Times of India

EV Company Bounce infinity and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) today announced a partnership under which, bounce infinity In a phased manner, Bharat Petroleum will set up its battery swapping stations in fuel stations. The company aims to set up 3,000 stations in 10 cities in India. EV users can search for the nearest swapping location on the Bounce app. The stations will support 2W, 3W and other OEMs.
The tie-up with Bounce Infinity will mark BPCL’s presence in urban markets with a network of battery swapping stations, having already established a fast-charging highway corridor starting from the 900-km Chennai-Trichy-Madurai-Chennai route.
Infinity swapping stations operate on the same principles as fuel stations. Here, Infinity Battery Swapping Stations will have charged and ready-to-go batteries that customers can easily swap from their almost empty batteries in a matter of minutes.
Bounce Infinity has seen over 1.2 million battery swaps on its energy infrastructure to date; This partnership with Bharat Petroleum, which runs a distributed network of over 20,000 fuel stations, reiterates the companies’ promise to make swapping networks accessible to consumers.
Bounce says the Infinity Swapping Network not only stores energy – it also transmits data. The Smart Battery and Station consists of multiple sensors and IOTs that communicate securely with the outside world. This helps the company to smartly scale and distribute the network without creating imbalance in the grid. For the rider, this smart network ensures a smooth and hassle-free experience.
Security solutions powered by Smart IoT and BMS make assets secure. The solution supports bidirectional charging or popularly known as ‘V2G’ (vehicle to grid technology) which goes a step further and allows charging to balance energy consumption and output variations when necessary. Allows the lost electricity to be pushed back into the power grid.
