EV maker Ather Energy is looking to set up 2,500 charging stations by the end of 2023

Electric two-wheeler maker Ather Energy is looking to set up over 2,500 charging stations by the end of 2023, the firm said on February 16.

So far, the firm has installed over 1,000 fast charging stations across 80 cities in the country.

The Bengaluru-based company claims that the Ather Grid (charging stations) is the largest fast-charging network for two-wheeler EVs in the country today, with 60 percent of existing installations in Tier-II and Tier-III cities.

“A robust charging infrastructure is one of the key drivers driving the rapid adoption of electric vehicles. As a brand focused on building a vibrant EV ecosystem, we have taken the lead in building India’s largest public fast-charging network. Strong investment,” said Ravneet Phokela, chief business officer, Ather Energy.

In addition, the firm is also adding Neighborhood Charging – a charging solution focused on semi-private spaces such as apartment blocks, offices, tech-parks etc.

“We remain committed to investing strategically in the space and supporting the growth of the industry,” Phokela said.

Backed by Hero MotoCorp, the Ather clocked its best ever monthly sales in January with 12,419 units delivered.

The company currently has a presence in 80 cities and plans to expand its retail presence to 150 centers across 100 cities by March 2023.
