Street Theater Workshop

Theater enthusiast Shreyasi Patil is conducting a one-day workshop on ‘Bayalu Natak’ or street theatre. Participants will do theater exercises, work on understanding space and body language. Then, they will engage in a brief discussion on street play. After the discussion, the participants are expected to work on a production with the guidance of the facilitators. They are free to play the role they feel is right, whether on stage or backstage. The facilitators will continuously work on these pieces along with the participants. By the end of the day, all the participants as a group will perform parts of their play.

Shreyasi has been doing theater and teaching work for the last four years. He has directed several plays and theater workshops. They hope to educate high school children and queer individuals on the fundamentals of gender studies through theatre. Everyone over the age of 16 is welcome.

The workshop is on 15 October from 9 AM to 4 PM at Bangalore Creative Circus and costs ₹1000 (lunch included).
