Explained in 5 points: Verified Twitter accounts will come in 3 colors

The Twitter Verified badge will have different colors depending on the account category

New Delhi:
Twitter’s refreshed account verification program will be rolled out next week. CEO Elon Musk said they would launch “Verified” next Friday. “Sorry for the delay, we are tentatively relaunching Verified on Friday next week.” he tweeted.

Here’s a 5-Point Explainer on Twitter’s Latest “Verified”

  1. The verified badge will have different colors depending on the account category.

  2. Mr Musk said gold checks for companies, gray checks for the government, blue for individuals (celebrity or not) and all verified accounts would be manually authenticated.

  3. Mr. Musk said that all verified individual humans would have the same blue check, which is remarkable, otherwise very subjective.

  4. Individuals may have a secondary smaller logo indicating that they belong to an organization if verified by that organization.

  5. On the current multicolored verification system, Mr Musk called it “painful, but necessary”, according to a report in The Verge, adding a “lengthy explanation” on how the system will work will be revealed next week.
