On Thursday, at least two people were killed in an explosion at a Spanish biodiesel plant in the northeast region of La Rioja, officials said. It was not immediately clear what caused the explosion. Local TV showed footage of thick plumes of black smoke rising from the site. The central government’s regional office said a group of 250 children visiting a nearby bird park had to be evacuated. All were harmless.
