External Affairs Minister Jaishankar rides ‘Made in India’ train in Mozambique

Foreign Minister S. During his visit to Mozambique, Jaishankar took a ride on a ‘Made in India’ train here and held “Great Green” talks with the country’s transport minister on expansion of train network, electric mobility and waterways connectivity.

Mr Jaishankar arrived in Mozambique’s capital on Thursday on a three-day visit and met the President of the African country’s parliament to strengthen bilateral cooperation.

His visit to Mozambique from 13 to 15 April is the first by an Indian External Affairs Minister to the country.

He tweeted on Thursday, “A great green transport conversation with Mateus Magala, Minister of Transport and Communications of Mozambique and Chairman of the Mozambican Port and Rail Authority. Talked about expanding train network, electric mobility and waterways connectivity. India in this regard A reliable partner in.” ,

He also took a ride on a train made in India.

“Ride on the ‘Made in India’ train from Maputo to Machava with Mozambique’s Transport Minister Mateus Magala. Appreciate RITES CMD Rahul Mithal joining the trip,” he tweeted.

Mr Jaishankar also interacted with the Indian community and visited a temple.

“Offered prayers at Shri Vishvambhar Mahadev Temple in Maputo this evening. Delighted to interact with the Indian community there,” he tweeted.

Mr Jaishankar arrived in Maputo from Uganda where he held talks with the country’s top leadership including President Yoweri Museveni and discussed possible cooperation in the areas of trade, infrastructure, energy and defence.
