F1 2022: Max Verstappen takes pole at 2022 Dutch Grand Prix: Perez drops out in qualifying – Times of India

Dutch Grand Prix back in 2022 formula 1 Season with 15th round Max Verstappen Leading the driver standings with 284 points to his name comfortably in his home GP race. After securing a pole position today, the defending champions will look to secure their fourth straight win and impress their home crowd at Circuit Zandvoort in the Netherlands.
Here’s how the three qualifying sessions of the 2022 Dutch Grand Prix went on today in the 4.259km-long circuit –
2022 Dutch Grand Prix Qualifying 1
Verstappen went fastest in Q1, posting a lap time of 1:11.317. Ahead of Lewis Hamilton in another, and Yuki Tsunoda in the third. Charles Leclerc was the fourth fastest, and lando norris Fifth came. Valtteri Bottas, Kevin Magnussen, Daniel Ricciardo, Sebastian Vettel and Nicolas Latifi were eliminated in the first qualifying, and they will start tomorrow’s race from 16th to 20th respectively.
2022 Dutch Grand Prix Qualifying 2
Carlos Sainz took first place in the second qualifying, while George Russell Ferrari was behind the driver in second place. Max Verstappen finished third, ahead of Charles Leclerc (fourth) and Lewis Hamilton (fifth). Pierre Gasly, Esteban Ocon, Fernando Alonso, Zhou Guanyue and Alex Albon didn’t make it into Q3 ,
2022 Dutch Grand Prix Qualifying 3
Max Verstappen finished pole position at his home Grand Prix, while his teammate Sergio Pérez could only finish fifth fastest after spinning on his flying lap. Ferrari drivers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz will start from second and third places respectively in the main race tomorrow. Lewis Hamilton joins Sainz to complete the second row.
George Russell will overtake his compatriot and McLaren driver Lando Norris tomorrow on the 7th. Mick Schumacher, Yuki Tsunoda and Lance Stroll start the 2022 Dutch Grand Prix on P8, P9 and P10 respectively.
