F1 2022: Perez win Singapore GP despite post-race punishment: Leclerc, Sainz complete podium – Times of India

2022 Singapore Grand Prix Ended with Red Bull Racing sergio perez Ahead of Ferrari drivers Charles, securing his fourth career win leclerc and Carlos Sainz in P2 and P3 respectively. Checo was given a five-second fine and two penalty points on his license for failing to keep within 10 car lengths of the safety car twice during the caution period.
However, despite the penalty, the Mexican driver managed to take home the maximum points. The gap for Leclerc on P2 was brought in just +2.595 seconds after the penalty was handed. The young Ferrari driver had started the race in pole position, however, he had to be content with 18 points.
A total of six DNFs were seen during the race, including Yuki Tsunoda, Esteban Ocon, Alexander Albon, Fernando Alonso, Nicolas Latifi and Zhou Guanyue. A look at all the point scorers in the 2022 Singapore Grand Prix –

Lando Norris finished fourth, while his teammate Daniel Ricciardo finished just behind him, taking 11 places after starting the race from P16. Aston Martin’s Lance Stroll finished sixth ahead of current championship leader Max Verstappen on a disappointing night after a heavy lock-up attempting to pass Leclerc.
Aston Martin had a great night when both their drivers scored points, with Sebastian Vettel moving up to 8th. Mercedes, on the other hand, would like to forget the GP if they could, with Lewis Hamilton finishing 9th, meanwhile George Russell finished the race in 14th.
