Facebook-parent Meta Platforms is planning several rounds of additional layoffs over the next few months that could match its 13% job cut tally from last year, The Wall Street Journal reported on Friday, citing people familiar with the matter. told.

Meta let go of 11,000 employees four months ago and will be the first big tech company to announce a second round of mass layoffs.

According to the report, the first wave of new cuts will be announced next week and non-engineering roles are likely to be hit hardest.

The report states that the company is also expected to lay off some projects and teams along with these cuts.
