“A message is being forwarded on #WhatsApp which claims that #COVID19 is a bacteria that can be cured with Aspirin. #PIBFactCheck This claim is #FAKE! #COVID19 is a virus, not a bacteria, it is called Aspirin Like cannot be cured with anticoagulants,” the tweet reads.

This message has been in circulation for a long time.

In June 2021, the Singapore government issued a statement on this. “A false message attributed to the Ministry of Health, Singapore is being circulated on the messaging platform. It claimed that following the autopsy of a COVID-19 patient, Singapore found that COVID-19 does not exist as a virus, Rather as a “bacterium that has been exposed to radiation and causes human death by coagulation in the blood.” The allegations are all false and the message does not originate from the Ministry of Health, Singapore. An earlier version of this message, citing countries such as Italy and Russia, rather than Singapore, has been exposed as untrue,” it had said.
