Fadnavis denied that Maharashtra government had any role in the delay in accepting Rutuja Latte’s resignation

The Shiv Sena’s Uddhav Thackeray camp had alleged that the state government had pressured the BMC chief not to accept the resignation of his candidate for the upcoming bypolls, Ms. Latte.

Refuting the allegations leveled by the Uddhav Thackeray camp, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday said the state government had no role in the alleged delay in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). Acceptance of resignation of his employee Rutuja Latke,

Ms. Latte is the candidate of the Uddhav Thackeray camp for the upcoming Andheri (East) by-election.

Earlier, Uddhav loyalist and MP Arvind Sawant had alleged that the Eknath Shinde-led BJP government had pressured the BMC chief not to accept his resignation.

Speaking to reporters, Mr Fadnavis said that the BMC was an autonomous and autonomous body, and its administration would decide whether to accept it or not, adding that the state government had nothing to do and the alleged delay in accepting I don’t mind. Ms Latke’s resignation.
