Fake Mr Bean caused a social media war between Zimbabwe-Pakistan in T20 World Cup

The comedian is popularly known as ‘Pak Bean’.

Cricket fans in Zimbabwe and Pakistan are engaged in a war of words over a non-cricket issue. The Reason? Fake Mr Bean. After Pakistan Cricket’s official Twitter account shared pictures of a player preparing for the Zimbabwe match, a Twitter user named Ngugi Chasura replied to the tweet saying, “As Zimbabwe we will not forgive you… You once gave us Fraud Pak Bean. Mr. Bean Rowan’s..we will solve the matter tomorrow just pray that the rain save you…#ZIMVSPAK.”

A Pakistani fan asked about the reference to which he replied that comedian Asif Muhammad, a doppelganger of Mr Bean, had traveled to Zimbabwe in 2016.

The Pakistani comedian participated in comedy shows, did road shows and was a part of the Harare agricultural show.

The comedian is popularly known as ‘Pak Bean’. Fake Bean was also given a police escort during his visit to Zimbabwe.

The tug of war on Twitter went viral on social media and netizens had a field day.

Meanwhile, Pakistan suffered a four-wicket defeat at the hands of India in their opening match, while Zimbabwe’s first match against South Africa in the Super 12 stage was called off due to rain. It will be interesting to see what combination both the teams come up with for this crucial encounter.

Pakistan vs Zimbabwe, Super 12 Group 2, T20 World Cup match will be played on Thursday 27 October.
