Farmer’s son from Jammu cracks civil service in first attempt

Mohammad Shabbir Gorsi from Poonch district is one of the seven youths from Jammu division of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir who have cleared the civil services examination, the result of which was declared on May 30. Born in Bachhiyan Wali village of Poonch district, Shabbir did his primary education from a local school.

His father G. Mohammad, a farmer by profession, shifted his children to the city of Poonch for further education, as there was a constant movement of terrorists in the village. Shabbir completed his bachelor’s degree from Jammu University and did his post graduation from Aligarh Muslim University.

Now that Mohammad Shabbir has cleared the civil services examination, the whole village is feeling proud of him. They celebrate success with their family members. Mod Shabir’s father Ghulam Mohammad while talking to News18 said that his dream has come true.

He said, “I shifted my children to Poonch because I wanted to save them from the effects of militancy and wanted to be good citizens. I have tried my best to educate Shabbir. Sometimes I had to work as a laborer to meet the expenses of my children. I am thankful to God that my dream has come true.” Shabbir’s sister Razia Bi said that her brother has made the entire region proud by clearing this prestigious exam.

Shabbir has cracked the Civil Services Examination in his very first attempt and secured 419th rank.

Six other youths of Jammu division have cracked the Civil Services Examination 2022. A youth named Anjit Singh from Thathri area of ​​Doda district secured 550th position in the final list. Another youth Asrar Ahmed Kitchlu of Bhaderwah area of ​​the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has got 287th rank.

Four other youths who have cleared this prestigious exam this year are from Jammu district of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
