Bengaluru based startup, Ultraviolet Automotive Unveiled the production-spec battery pack that will power its upcoming F77 electric bike. Pre-bookings for the electric bike will start from October 23 at Rs 10,000, followed by a formal launch in November and more details about the variants will be revealed on November 24.
Coming to the new battery pack, the new battery pack packs a fixed, bigger and more lithium-ion cell. The company says that the decision was taken to switch to a fixed battery pack to improve the range of the bike.

The battery pack now uses 21,700 Lithium-Ion cells as opposed to 18,650 cells in the prototype and this translates into a usable capacity of 10.5kWh which makes the F77’s battery size the largest of any electric two-wheeler in India.
As mentioned earlier, the battery is now fixed and the cells are housed in an aluminum case making it 50kg heavier. Along with the battery update, the electric bike also gets three levels of regenerative braking and riding modes that will affect the range.
Most importantly, the motorcycle now gets a claimed range of 307 km, which is the highest for any electric two-wheeler in India. The company will also provide multiple charging options along with the charging infrastructure, details of which will be announced at launch.

The company also showcased the production-spec F77 at the event. Talking about the updates made to the electric bike, the company said that the entire chassis of the bike has been revamped to include the new battery pack which is now fixed and heavier than before and the new frame is the old frame. Twice as tough as it is.
The company also said that the electric bike gets a refining step-down transmission for better durability and lower noise level. The bike also gets a redesigned swingarm, while the original swingarm was a milled unit. The bike now also gets pre-load adjustable USD forks and mono-shock. As mentioned earlier, the electric bike will get riding modes and three levels of regenerative braking which will affect the range and performance.

Customers willing to try their hand at the bike can pre-book the electric bike from October 23 for a booking amount of Rs 10,000. The company said that the deliveries of the electric bike will start by the end of the calendar year.
The company will open its first experience center in Bengaluru and will expand to other cities in the next 12 months. The company says it has received over 70,000 bookings from 190 countries and plans to start exports to other markets in the next 24 months.
