Fierce fire after explosion in Nashik factory, workers feared trapped

Nashik:

Many laborers are feared to be trapped in a massive fire today in a factory in Nashik, Maharashtra.

At least 14 people have been hospitalised, five of whom are in critical condition. Officials said one of them has died.

The fire broke out at 11 am following a massive boiler explosion at the factory located in Mundegaon village, officials said.

Several fire engines are trying to douse the fire on the spot.

“11 workers have been rescued while several others are trapped,” said a fire department official.

Officials said the exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained and rescue efforts are on.
