Film crew shoots film inside gurdwara in Pakistan wearing shoes, BJP leader Sirsa calls for swift action – Times of India

New Delhi: A film crew broke into the premises of Gurdwara Panja Sahib in Punjab province Pakistan Wearing shoes and shooting the film without permission got annoyed Sikh Community in the country, Bharatiya Janata Party leaders Manjinder Singh Sirsa claimed while sharing the video of the incident.
“The blasphemy act continues in Pakistan: Sharing a video of BEADABI at Gurdwara #PanjaSahib, where a film crew was allowed to shoot a film in the Gurdwara premises. Earlier we had similar pictures of frivolous acts in the premises saw Gurudwara Kartarpur Sahib,” wrote Sirsa while sharing the video.
He shared a video message on his Twitter handle condemning the act saying, “A film crew who were shooting a film inside Gurdwara Paw Singh entered wearing shoes on September 29, causing outrage among the devotees. One of them entangled with the crew and recorded the incident. When the devotee complained about this, the Pakistan government took the man into custody despite taking action against the culprit.
The BJP leader said that a local Sikh has informed that since the devotee reported the incident, the person is missing, and the local people have been threatened against sharing the video of the incident.
Sirsa further said that instead of taking action against the culprits, the Government of Pakistan has detained the devotees who recorded the incident. The BJP leader condemned the act and demanded the Indian government to take immediate action and take up the issue with the Pakistani government.
“The Government of Pakistan continues to ignore acts of sacrilege against Sikhism. Instead of taking action against the perpetrators who “deadbi” and entered the gurdwara with shoes, it took action against those who reported the incident. We strongly condemn this blasphemy. I urge the Ministry of External Affairs and Government of India to take up this issue with the Government of Pakistan and take immediate action against it.
In the viral video of the incident, a group of men wearing shoes were seen strolling inside Gurdwara Panja Sahib Hassan Abdali area of
Attock district of Punjab province in Pakistan. According to media reports, the film crew was shooting for the film ‘Lahore-Lahore A’ inside the gurdwara.
The crew entered the gurdwara wearing shoes, which enraged the devotees, who scuffled with the crew and shot a video of the incident. The video went viral on social media, sparking outrage among the Sikh community.
Last year, a Pakistani model was severely criticized for a bare-headed photograph at Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Kartarpur. Young model Souleha faced a lot of criticism on social media after her pictures inside Kartarpur Sahib without covering her head went viral.
However, she later issued an apology to people for inadvertently hurting their sentiments, saying she “respects Sikh culture” and will be more responsible in the future.
